This is my story.
In 2009, i was working for a large UK PLC and one of the projects i was running was to consolidate our entire printer estate. I ended up on the wrong end of a set of legal claims totalling £250k from several UK based copier dealers.
In my attempts to save my client from exposure to these risks, i delved into the secret world of the copier dealer and i learnt (the hard way) the tricks that these guys use to win your business, tie you into contracts, and charge you above the odds.
This blog is here for one reason : i want to educate you on what to look out for. I offer a free contract review and i GUARANTEE that i can also deliver you savings and remove the contractual tie ins that you encounter.
Without obligation

Hello James
ReplyDeleteI have been in the copier industry for nearly 30 years. I worked for a highly ethical manufacturer (begins with P) for nearly 9 years. Because of the global downturn my team was disbanded and we were all transferred, against our will, to a large UK based dealer! Having been there for a few weeks I realised that their methods, ethics and contracts were all very dubious. Their contracts have some very nasty clauses. Their director even lied to us prior to the transfer, now only 3 of the original 10 salesmen still work there.
If I can help with anything at all please let me know.

James,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you had to find out the hard way that the photocopier industry needs cleansing from top to toe. I have already started this process and have a passion for helping those people/organisations whose only error was in trusting the smiley salesperson sat in front of them.Schools paying 5 times the retail value of the equipment, machines being leased twice because settlements have not been paid as promised, massive annual increases on copy costs, large toner and support charges which over the period often equate to the cost of the equipment itself, second hand machines sold as new, massive termination penalties due to restrictive terms and conditions for service that will not be required. I could go on and on...why don`t you join me!! I need people with the same integrity and passion that I have for the work that I do. Well done with your blog it is so typical of the unscrupulous copier dealer...

A Berkshire school paying £450,000 for 5 copiers,a commercial in Buckinghamshire leasing the same equipment through two companies simultaneously,a large PLC with a £300,000 service agreement settlement for cancellation. This is wrong and we are doing something about it....
ReplyDeleteThe purpose of the BuyersBuddy is simple - to deliver large financial savings and contractual protection to our clients in the murky world of Photocopiers/MFP`s/MFD`s/Managed Print Services etc through expertise and trade price supply. Our Contract Surgery will identify the existing cost and contractual problems and then set about solving them. We intend to turn this dreadful industry inside out using a passionate dose of honesty and transparency that has been sadly lacking for many, many years.
Please could you pass this message on to your wealth of contacts who,I am sure, will understand the need for such a service!
